WARNEET BOATING FACILITY CARPARK UPGRADE
Boat ramp users have told Better Boating Victoria that the Warneet Boating Facility carpark needs to be redesigned to create easier and safer access for all users.
In response Better Boating Victoria has commissioned development of a functional concept design for the upgrade of the existing car park with the aim of increasing the number of car-trailer unit (CTU) parking; creating safer and efficient launch & retrieval access to the boat ramps and ensuring ramp users and agency stakeholders have opportunity to contribute to the development of the concept designs.
Better Boating Victoria will -
Work with the Committee of Management and relevant stakeholders to progress the functional concept
Facilitate public consultation and feedback
Fund the design

Delivery on commitments to making boating safer and easier for Victorians through upgrade of facilities
Improve car-parking capacity and provide improvements at the Warneet boat ramp
Support communities to connect with nature and improved mental health and wellbeing through boating and fishing
What has happened so far?
A meeting was held early February which provided key agency and stakeholders with the opportunity to discuss issues relating to the current carpark and functional aspects that should be required when developing the concept designs. The concept designer – WGAVic Pty Ltd – conducted a site walk where stakeholders could point out areas of concern and opportunities for improvement. Better Boating Victoria is also progressing a separate boating precinct plan with key stakeholders for the Warneet boating community. A workshop for this project will be scheduled in March 2021.
What next?
Early February:
WGAVic Pty Ltd will develop concepts for consideration by stakeholders and the Warneet community
Late February/early March:
Community consultation sessions will be organised providing an opportunity for boat ramp users and locals to provide feedback on the concept designs.
Final functional designs (concepts) will be developed. The final designs will feed into the Warneet Boating Precinct Plan.
March:
First workshop to progress the Warneet Boating Precinct Plan will be arranged. Stakeholders will be invited
