The BIAV are deeply saddened by the passing of Chris Warner.

Chris was a director of Anchor Marine since 1993 and a highly active and engaged member of the boating industry until this was curtailed by illness several years ago He was an active BIAV Board Member who became President from 1997 - 2000 and again in 2006. Chris was awarded BIAV’s top honour – that of an Honorary Life Member in 2007.

Chris was also President of AMIF the previous national body for Boating Industry Associations.

He is survived by his partner Donna Parker and three sons Richard, Robert, and Rodney.

On Chris’s passing, fellow BIAV Life Member, and long time friend and colleague Alistair Murray AM commented -

"This week we lost a great friend, and absolute stalwart of the marine industry, with the passing of Chris Warner. Personally, I knew Chris well, having travelled extensively with him and sharing many stories and laughs. He was a great man who enjoyed life to the fullest, with a trademark laugh that made him easy to find in any room!

He contributed greatly to our industry through his ownership of Anchor Marine, which he shared with his brothers, Andrew & Tim. Regarding it important to put back into the industry, Chris was pivotal in his roles with the Boating Industry of Victoria, of which he was past President and Life Member, and with AIMEX, of which he played a role with in its formation. All of us who knew him and loved him extend our deepest sympathies to Donna, his brothers, his children and extended family. Chris will be greatly missed, but never forgotten."

There will be a celebration of Chris' life at Sandringham Yacht Club, from 1pm-4pm on Thursday, 23rd Jan.
