BIGGEST EVER TROUT OPENING THIS WEEKEND

Victoria is set to see its biggest ever trout opening weekend on September 1. We have two events scheduled in Ballarat and Eildon to celebrate the return of trout fishing in most rivers for 2018. In a VFA first, 2,000 massive trout weighing up to 4kg each will be stocked at 11 family-friendly sites near Eildon (see map below). The combined weight of the enormous rainbow trout will be 7 tonnes, making the release the biggest ever 24-hour stocking event in Fisheries’ history.
