Changes to BIAV roles/duties
Commencing September there will be slight changes to the roles/duties of both Ben Scullin and Mary Papantoniou at BIAV.
Ben will continue his all-important Advocacy related duties, seeking to influence better outcomes for the boating industry and boaters. Ben will now assume responsibility in the Education area and in particular will work on identifying skills and course shortages, ways to address them, and will help BIAV to play a link role between potential apprentices, employers and TAFEs. This will also include the convenor role for both the Advocacy and Education committees. Ben’s adjusted title will be Manager - Advocacy and Industry Skills.
Mary will adopt the Membership development responsibility, including the convenor role for the Membership committee. Member service and support, and building the membership is BIAV’s core business and an area of utmost importance. This will add to Mary’s multi-faceted role which covers a full suite of administration duties, all financial recording for the external accountant, as well as convening the Finance committee and BIAV AGM. Mary’s title will adjust to Manager – Administration and Membership.
Our recent road show program with extensive member ‘buy-in’, as well as the current strategic planning process, clearly indicated these as major priority areas. They will appear as such in our revised strategic planning document that will be finalised later in the year and I’m pleased that Ben and Mary will be taking them on.
