More Fish, More Boating on the Bays

VRFish is calling on the State Government to expand Victoria’s successful fish stocking program to include estuarine species, backed by investment in a new marine hatchery.

With more than two-thirds of Victorian boaters active on Port Phillip and Western Port, many of them fishing, this presents a clear opportunity. Enhancing fish stocks in these waterways has the potential to drive greater participation on the water, supporting both recreational boating and the broader marine industry.
