MINIMUM WAGE CHANGES

BIAV’s HR advisor, HR Advice on line advises that the Fair Work Commission (the Commission) has recently announced The Annual Wage Review Decision 2023-24 in line with its requirements to conduct an annual wage review.

The annual wage review has two main functions, to review and make the national minimum wage (NMW) order and to review modern award minimum wages and to consider if they should be adjusted.

The Commission decided to increase the national minimum wage and all modern award minimum wage rates by 3.75% from 1 July 2024.

 The NNW order will operate from 1 July 2024 and will take effect from the start of the employees’ first full pay period on or after 1 July 2024. The national minimum wage will be $915.90 per week or $24.10 per hour.
