JOINT VENTURE FOR IMPACT BOATS
BIAV member Impact Boats, in Dandenong South, are about to make in-roads to the Indian market, with their high-density polyethylene construction (HPDC) boats. This week they signed off on a major joint venture with Indian company Cirus, to take their expertise, IP, and boats, to this extensive market. Photographed with the BIAV CEO Steve Walker are Impact’s Peter Baxevanis, Cirus CEO Pankaaj Kumar, and Harish Rao from the Australia/India Chamber of Commerce. Domestically, Impact Boats deliver solutions to a variety of industries, including police and emergency services, defence, border security and search and rescue. This is set to expand to the Indian market, including via Cirus, and Cirus’s connection to India’s defence related requirements. This strategic partnership aims to establish CIRUS IMPACT BOATS as the premier High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) boat designer cum manufacturer catering to the unique needs of the Indian market for diverse military and civil applications.
Impact’s HPDC plastic boats are extremely durable, ‘unbreakable’, and they are also ticking environmental boxes, with low carbon output and sustainable manufacturing. This is complemented by the hybrid model engines where during the diesel usage periods the batteries are re-charged for emission free usage. Peter Baxevanis explaining “We are providing an environmentally sound solution for sensitive industries including fisheries, tourism and defence, and providing a product that will be long lasting, not needing hull maintenance, and that can tackle the toughest of conditions”.
