COOL YOUR JETS

Victoria is riding the waves of a jet ski craze! In the past two years, jet ski ownership has skyrocketed, a whopping 29%.

With great power (and speed) comes great responsibility.

That's where the Safe Transport Victoria campaign, ‘Cool Your Jets’ comes in, tackling the growing number of incidents, especially among younger riders.

The Safe Transport Victoria initiative focuses on the behaviours of those riding jet skis, aiming to model what a great rider looks like.

Let's keep the waves a fun and safe place to be this summer.

SAFETY FIRST IF YOU RIDE A JETSKI

  • Stick to a reasonable 5-knot (approx. 9km/h) speed limit when near the shoreline, swimmers and other boats.

  • Be prepared with safety gear (lifejackets, waterproof communication devices, and water buoyant torches

  • Be a pro navigator - use navigation lights in low visibility

Let's all work together to create a safer and more enjoyable water environment for everyone.

Make waves the right way!
