SAFE TRANSPORT - MARITIME - ANNUAL REPORT

Safe Transport Victoria has released its annual report, including its Maritime Division. The report shows further growth on both boat registrations and marine licences, with 4% and 6% growth respectively since 2020. This augers well for the industry with increasing demand for boats and boating lifestyle. Being our safety regulator and agency the report also outlines the 1,171 on-water incidents, and 397 infringement notices. Also noted is the increase in the number of Boating Vic webcams at boat ramps across the state. Special mention is made of jet ski safety awareness and as per other years we will have to ensure that actual safety data is used whenever jet ski policy is being contemplated.
