BOAT ACCESS - LOCKDOWN 6
As at 13 September, as the Restriction period continues for Melbourne and Greater Shepparton, BIAV is aware that boating and fishing continues to be allowed for exercise. Subject to –
It being within 5km from home
For up to 2hrs, once per day
With a mask
With one other person (plus dependents that cannot be left unattended)
For many people that do not store their boat at home, this will require them accessing their boat. BIAV understands that -
Boats can be accessed from open air yards. So long as social distancing and other covid requirements can be practiced, and a facility such as a clubhouse is not entered.
Boats on moorings and marinas can be accessed. So long as social distancing and other covid requirements can be practiced, and a facility such as a clubhouse is not entered.
Boats may be able to be accessed from storage or drystacks, if done in a retail style, click and collect, covid-safe manner, and if the storage facility has this same understanding.
