WHAT'S ON: JANUARY

AUSTRALIA DAY NAUTI WEEKEND

To celebrate boating on the Bay, the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron is hosting an event-filled Australia Day weekend of fun activities for all. Both on and off-water events will take place around Port Philip, which will be inclusive of all boats and involve multiple Clubs from around the Bay.

With open invitations to keelboats, dinghies, multihulls, motorboats and more, for sailors, their families and friends of all skill levels, there will be something for everyone such as after-parties at RMYS each evening! Activities will be happening all weekend for you to choose from, including free on-water fun, culminating in an on-water spectacle including boats of all types joining a Flotilla around the Bay.

PASSAGE RACE

The Festival of Sails Organising Committee and Royal Geelong Yacht Club is thrilled to release the Notice of Race and open entries for the 178th installment of the Melbourne to Geelong Passage Race, brought to you by MacGlide.

After the cancellation of the Festival of Sails, it is a great outcome to be able to maintain the tradition of this historic sailing event and offer something to our sailing community over the Australia Day long weekend.

Free Metro and Regional Victoria clinics to learn how to self-inspect your inflatable lifejacket.

Attend one of Maritime Safety Victoria's FREE clinics (in both Metro and Regional Victoria) to learn how to service and maintain your lifejacket, so you can stay safe on the water.

Inflatable lifejackets are easy to wear and comfortable but require proper maintenance to keep you afloat in an emergency. If you own a lifejacket in Victoria, you should self-inspect it once a year and have it fully serviced by an accredited service agent every 3 to 5 years.

The clinic will leave you with all the knowledge you need to complete your annual self-inspections.

Attendees will also receive a $30 voucher from a local retailer to go towards a new lifejacket, lifejacket service kit, or other safety equipment.
