RETIREMENT OF A BIAV LEGEND

BIAV Life Member and former President Rod Smith has ‘called it a day’, and is retiring from his role as Managing Director of C.H.Smith. This comes, after 51 years with C.H.Smith, and as Rod sells the business in its current successful shape.

Here is a history of Rod’s early days in the business, his ascension to the helm at C.H.Smith, his innovation and business courage, and his steady road to success.

Rod’s time serving BIAV is also captured in the latter part of the article, including his long stint as President, all his pro-industry achievements, the many relationships built, and his appointment as a Life Member in 2009.
