RACV MARINE 2019 MELBOURNE BOAT SHOW A SUCCESS

The Boating Industry Association of Victoria (BIAV) would like to thank all visitors, exhibitors and partners that attended or took part in the RACV Marine Melbourne Boat Show. The BIAV is proud to say the Show was a success. Some of the highlights were the amazing layout and fantastic exhibits, the family fun and entertainment that was well received, the solid crowds that had a very positive vibe, the attendance of the Boating Minister, the Bigger Better Boatier campaign, and a great coming together of the industry over the week.

Crowd numbers indicated that interest in boating, as well as boating lifestyle and accessories, remains strong. Over 21,000 people attended the event, held at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre from June 13-16. Just under 120 exhibitors put on a great display for them, with every type of boat and accessory for the Victorian boating lifestyle.

BIAV CEO Steve Walker commented “We were really pleased with how the venue came up. The Exhibitors did a great job. Visitors seemed to really enjoy the relaxed layout, the array of boats, equipment and accessories, and the really enjoyable family experience”.

The BIAV was pleased to have several major prizes for visitors to win, including a Volkswagen Amarok, a Northbank 500C Boat Package, eight Scan to Win prizes and a fishing trip with US Wicked Tuna star Dave Marciano. Thousands entered these competitions and there has been a suite of very happy winners! The results can be viewed here.

There was also a really exciting line up of stage presenters, including Dave Marciano, Paul Worsteling, Lee Rayner, Paul ‘Kuma’ Carter, Salt Guide’s Aaron Habgood and Gawaine Blake joined by Patty Dangerfield, Navico’s Kenneth Thompson and the head chef of The Atlantic, Nick Mahlook. There were big and engaging crowds each day, with a more intimate stage being a positive change for both presenter and audience.

The new entertainment was very well received, with long lines of kids waiting to ride the Zip line from open to close, walking off with big smiles. The thrill-seekers absolutely loved the Isuzu Team D-Max Iron Summit, which had lines throughout the whole show too. The cafes and bars were heavily populated throughout.

Further information in relation to the Lake Eildon Boating and Fishing Show, a very exciting new on-water event in the beautiful area of Eildon, will be forthcoming soon. For exhibitor information meanwhile please click here. The show will be held at Lake Eildon from October 11-13 this year.

The Melbourne Boat Show returns to MCEC next June for what will be a huge celebration for what will be its 60th occurrence.
