OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE RACV MARINE 2019 MELBOURNE BOAT SHOW WITH BOATING MINISTER, HON. JAALA PULFORD

The Hon. Jaala Pulford, Minister for Fishing and Boating officially opened the 2019 RACV Marine Melbourne Boat Show at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on the Stratton Finance main stage. Minister Pulford provided an update on Victorian Government progress on better boating for all Victorians, and present the Apprentice of the Year Awards for Boat Building and Marine Mechanic.

As well as spending quite some time visiting exhibitors, the Minister officially opened the Show, and when doing so re-iterated the government’s commitment to its 19/20 and beyond financial commitment to boating facilities, infrastructure and safety. It was great to hear this again from the Minister, and thank you for those who attended.

Congratulations to our exhibitor BL Marine whose apprentice Matthew Ruberto, took out the Marine Mechanical Construction Apprentice of the Year award. This was presented by Minister Jaala Pulford and Education Chair Andrew Warner.

Congratulations also to James Hannah (Garner Marine) for taking out the overall Apprentice of the Year, as well as the Marine Craft Construction award. Interestingly his current boss, Brendan Garner won this award exactly 20 years ago!
