CONSTITUTION DRAFT
CONSTITUTION FOR THE
BOATING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF VICTORIA
FINAL DRAFT & EXPLANATORY NOTE
The BIAV Board, on behalf of all members, is committed to good governance and having a strong and stable association. This has been reflected in efforts to have an effective and high level Board in place, good financial performance, and appropriate policies and procedures.
As part of this, the need for a revised BIAV Constitution was recognised some time ago and most recently was discussed with members at the 2018 AGM. Since then, a template was chosen, based on the model provided by a ‘like’ association. This template was then adapted to BIAV requirements and then reviewed in great detail by a Constitution Review Committee. This committee comprised three past Presidents in Rod Smith, Andrew Warner and Gordon Howlett, as well as the current President Mark Crockford, and myself. Numerous iterations were worked through, and version V2k is now available for member review and feedback.
Please see attached the draft V2k, as well as an Explanatory Note, and please be advised of a members forum in relation to the draft which takes place on Wednesday 27 February at 5.30pm at BIAV. Click here to RSVP.
Meanwhile there is plenty going on with huge Boat Show announcements looming, industry immersions being planned, and more advocacy issues than you can poke a stick at. Happy reading.
