New VP for BIAV

The BIAV Board has elected Rohan Veal as Vice-president of the Association at its December Board meeting. The BIAV Constitution requires that the Elected Board members vote for a vice-president from among their ranks and Rohan was a unanimous choice.

Rohan is the Boat Dealers Board representative to the Board and has been since the April AGM. By day he is the owner/director of 38 South Boat Sales. A business he has been in, and as part of the BIAV for over ten years. Rohan is also a champion sailor, with a World Moth Sailing Championship amongst his credits. President David Meehan welcomed Rohan to the role and congratulated him on being elected by his peers.

In other governance news, Yamaha’s Robert Anderson has been appointed to the Melbourne Boat Show committee for the 2020 year. Rob has extensive industry experience having managed dealerships, exhibitor businesses, and boat and outboard manufacturers. Rob joins Scott O’Hare (Aussie Boat Sales), Greg Walker (JV Marine), Charlie Micalef (Savage Seas) and Mandy Polan (St Kilda Boat Sales) as industry members of the committee, along with both Monica Tonner (Event Manager) and Steve Walker (Chair) from the staffing perspective.
